Choosing an alternative energy supplier

As soon as capacity is exposed in any market, people compete very aggressively to fill it. The classic stages of a market are:

Innovation

Incubation

Rollout (or exploitation)

Maturity

Decline

The usual price profile for a product at each stage is to move from "expensive and risky" through "expensive but high benefit" to "commodity price" to "Price competition".

The trouble with green energy, much like the internet boom before it, to as far back as Dutch Tulip Bulbs bubble back in the 1700s, that the hype exists while the price is high and the products may still carry a degree of risk and this means a) the big suppliers are usually behind the curve, because they are over-committed to existing markets and are often not the best source of information and b) that all sorts of small suppliers are trying to get in on the act and not necessarily being fully committed to customer benefit. Caveat Emptor! Buyer beware!

This is exactly what Green Energy (Eu) Ltd seeks to help the market with. We track the emerging market and seek to distinguish "Leading Edge" from "Bleeding Edge". The most obvious expression of this lies in our two websites: Greenenergy-eu.com which only reflects stable, high-quality products that we are confident recommending to the market. The second website we run is Powerhelix.co.uk which is an incubator site for products that are currently under review. This does not mean products in Power Helix are unreliable: it just means they are under review. We find there are two very distinct populations who are interested in either site. In both cases our "books are open" for everyone to see.

We also try and maintain independence of advice in two ways. The first is that we do not manufacture the products we recommend ourselves, so there is no "insurance salesman" about our recommendations. We genuinely evaluate and bring to market the best of breed and so the only "insurance" aspect of this is that a customer knows they are getting the best when they take our recommendation.

The second way we maintain independence is that we distribute via a network of independent distributors and we consequently do not have automatic vested interests vested in local economics and politics. Every customer is of value to us regardless of size or source. We also vet and maintain our distributor network to ensure we are being represented by the highest quality distributors. Equally, distributors know that by being a Green Energy (Eu) distributor that this is a highly valuable business opportunity for themselves.
